Company News

March 23rd, 2009 -- iPhotoWebShare 2.0 is out! See our product's page for the download link. Some notable enhancements:

  • The biggest requested feature was support for themes. Well, you got what you asked for! iPhotoWebShare is themeable and includes two different layouts each with several color schemes. Third parties can even write their own layouts (more on this in the weeks to come...)
  • The Preference Pane has controls to specify the quality of thumbnails and images.
  • Better synchronization between the Preference Pane and the server. Changes made in the Preference Pane are almost immediately reflected in the content that is served over the Web.
  • We can now add libraries from iPhoto '08 and '09. Starting with iPhoto '08, photo libraries are now stored in "packages", whereas they were stored in folders. Previous versions of iPhotoWebShare couldn't select [ackages, but now it can.

March 20th, 2009 -- bitpatterns is four years old and we're close to releasing v2.0 of iPhotoWebShare! We still need to update the graphics on the web site and finalize a few things in the downloadable file. But it should all be done within the week. Stay tuned!

November 3rd, 2006 -- iPhotoWebShare 1.4 is released!

  • Now it's a Universal Binary!
  • Massive internal changes to support international character sets.
  • Movie support is better
  • More image formats are supported.

Sept 15th, 2005 -- iPhotoWebShare 1.3 is released! The following improvements have been added:

  • Movies are now viewable in the slideshow.
  • A link has been added to the slideshow to allow the full-size image to be downloaded.
  • All links generated on the web page are relative (they used to be absolute). This means that iPhotoWebShare will work behind a web proxy.
  • A "troubleshoot" button has been added to the Preference Pane to help determine your machine's URL (to send to family and friends.)
  • Added "favicon.ico" support.
  • Fixed a bug where certain JPG images weren't scaled correctly in the slideshow.
  • Built under Tiger using the latest Development toolkit (XCode 2.1). Should still work with Panther, though.

Sept 6th, 2005 -- A beta of iPhotoWebShare 1.3 has been sent out to testers. If all goes well, we will release it early next week.

April 28th, 2005 -- iPhotoWebShare v1.2 has been released! We released this version to address a few remaining bugs that were discovered. The one big change, however, was the addition of Basic Authentication to the server -- you can now limit the access to your library by protecting it with a password!

April 17th, 2005 -- iPhotoWebShare v1.1 has been released! The following improvements have been incorporated into this release:

  • The thumbnail screen breaks albums up into multiple pages so visitors don't have to download an entire album's worth of images.
  • Further network-friendly enhancements have been made so that slideshows display faster.
  • Fixed an issue where iPhotoWebShare may not properly start after a reboot.
  • Several other bugs were reported and fixed.

We are very pleased with the performance and stability of this release. We encourage all users of v1.0 to upgrade.

April 14th, 2005 -- We've purchased our copies of "Tiger" (OS X v10.4). If iPhotoWebShare has any problems running under Apple's latest operating system, we'll fix it as soon as possible.

March 10th, 2005 -- bitpatterns releases its first product: iPhotoWebShare v1.0.

March 1st, 2005 -- bitpatterns opens for business! Our domain and web site are activated today.
